Free Scary Face Pancakes Return to IHOP in October

Just recently, IHOP made an announcement that will surely delight all pancake lovers. IHOP would be serving up their no tricks – just treats menu this October as a delicious and playful month-long celebration of the Halloween season.

So from October 3 through October 31, all participating IHOP restaurants across the US will have special additions to their regular menu.  Pumpkin pancakes, made out of real pumpkin and spices, garnished with a delicious whipped topping, will be available along with All-You-Can-Eat buttermilk pancakes.  These will be offered in a combo or a la carte, starting at $4.99, and beginning with pancakes, golden hash browns and eggs any style.  Guests will have the option of adding other items of their choice such as pork sausage links, ham or crisp bacon for an additional charge.

And that’s not all. On Friday, October 28, IHOP restaurants will be offering one Scary Face Pancake free to each kid aged 12 and under from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  As part of the Halloween tradition, IHOP’s popular Funny Face Pancake will turn scary by way of a “design-your-own” Scary Face Pancake for children.  Called the Count Spatula Scary Face Pancake, this will be a large buttermilk pancake having a creamy topping mouth, and a bright red strawberry nose, served together with a couple of mini OREO® cookies and some candy corn on the side using which kids will be able to create their own version of a Halloween hotcake.  Like all other items on the IHOP Kids menu, is will have less than 600 calories.  Though it will be available throughout October, kids 12 and under will be offered this pancake as a free, early-Halloween treat on October 28.

Interestingly, the name Count Spatula was chosen as the winning name in the “name-the-Scary-Face-Pancake” contest held last October.
